Fahrenheit Hair Care System Ceramic Hair Straightener/ Flat Iron Review

This is the 1 and 1/4" Onyx Black one from the Heat Wave Collection.

Model FHT-125BKFeatures:
-Ceramic plates
-Good grip
-Manual temperature setting from 140 - 450 degrees F
-Heats to 450 degrees in 30 seconds
-Lifetime warranty

This flat iron is pretty great; it's a whole lot better than the pink Revlon one (see previous post). I especially LOVE the grip because it is such a drastic change from the last one, where I burned my hands from the non-existent grip. However, there are some minor problems I have with it. Because the grip is so big, the plates are smaller. I figured out that the Revlon one had such a terrible grip because its plates were too long, so that the entire thing heated up. This flat iron is the opposite- it's plates are slightly on the short side. The only other characteristic I do not love about this is that it kind of tugs on my hair at the bottom. It doesn't pull your hair very much, but it does a little.

Other than those two problems, I think this flat iron is a 4 (out of 5) star one. I would definitely buy this for the price I got it for- $35 from Marshall's. (=

  6. Hi! I have had this type of hair straightener and its really cool to use because it straightens my hair in no time plus the quality is incomparable. Thanks a lot for posting because it confirms that I am not the only one using it.

  7. This is the worst straightner I have ever used. I kept on lowering the heat thinking that my hair had become less tolerant to the heat, but unfortunately the straightner is a piece of garbage and no matter what temperature you lower it to it still heats to full temperature. Before I got the straightner my hair was long, soft and undamaged. NOW my hair is all different lengths, totally ruined and burnt!!! It makes me sick to my stomach!!!! I wish I had never purchased this nightmare of a product!

    2. I have the same thing! At first I thought it was the hairdressers fault for overproccessing my highlights. Last time I had highlights was 10 months ago and my hair in front is still fried! I started using the new iron at the same time...glad I found your posts. Its going in the garbage!

  9. My hair is normal to slightly thick. You can set the temperature setting on this to whatever temp. you want, so it should work for any kind of hair. :)

  13. This starightener burnt my hair that was 13 inches long. Now there's a piece (or chunk rather) in the back that's a dismal 7 in. Sad sad. Thankfully it was a bottom layer and not noticeable. The temp regulator is definitely broken on this thing as it heats wayyy past 450 at event he lowest setting :(

  14. I Will Say It's A Pretty good straightener and I got Mine At Marshals for About 30$ And I Have Had It For About A Year And Now The ceramic plate inside is falling apart like it's sticking out and it pulls my hair so if ur looking for a straightener that you want to keep for a while then i recommend a Chi or a KCQ that im getting this Week! Which Is the best Straightener on the market because it has new technology and u can buy it super cheap on flatironexperts.com check it out!! The original price is about 300-400 but on the website that i just talked about its on sale for 109!!! So Just Check Out The WEbsite And The First Thing It Shows Is The KCQ!!!

  18. I bought this straightener about 8 months ago from marshals. My friend has the pink silicone textured one and it was nice when i used hers so i decided id get the same one but a different color (i got the silver and black zebra print). I HATE this straightener i had fot my hair cut back in October to about my collar bone and now my hair has gotten so burnt after i shower and just let it dry or blow dry it I literally look like a lion its so singed and will not grow. I'm so sick of it. I normally have pin straight averagely thin hair as it is so i would not recommend this product to anyone ever. It also has burnt my friends hair the same as mine and her hair Is quite a but thicker than mine is.

    1. Naturally straightening your hair, no matter which straightener you use, is going to change the texture of your hair. My sister also had pin straight hair and now looks like a lioness. It was with an amazing, super expensive, straightener that this happened. The brand does not matter, straightening your hair is burning it! So with the price and quality of this one its a good deal. Im sorry your hair was ruined, when it grows out it should be better, just blow dry it if its already pin straight, but you want the sleek salon finish.

    2. I disagree. I've used CHI, Conair, and iTools straighteners for years and they have NEVER burned or broken off hair the way this one did. All straighteners are NOT the same, that's the whole purpose of this blog post. To compare. Unfortunately, the Fahrenheit straightener has ruined my hair and it will take another year+ to grow out the damage.

  19. I filed out the lifetime warrenty on two websites. I tried to get mine replaced because one of the plates is cracked and i have no idea how to get it replaced. ive called every number i could find and every email provided and yet no luck. i wish that lifetime warrenty meant just that

  21. I agree- the temperature gauge is faulty. I have used all kinds of ceramic straighteners for the past 10 years & never had a problem until buying this one a month ago. Singed & burned my bangs & hair all around my face. It is turned as low as possible and there is no difference between highest & lowest temps. Pay the extra 40$ for a CHI. These suck.

  22. I bought mine from Marshall's for about $35. The problem with mine is it won't heat up. When it does finally decide to heat up it doesn't take long to reach my temperature setting. So, if I want to use it, I can't be in a hurry because it takes about a hour to start heating up.

  23. Mine didn't work :( had to give it back and got a refund (luckily). I ordered a Karmin instead and it's amaaaazing so maybe review that one next?
