Her hair looks super easy to do but looks lovely on her! Curl it using a one inch curling iron by NOT using the clamp; just wrap a half-inch section of hair around the entire barrel and hold for ten seconds, let go, and move on to another section of hair until all the hair is curled. Slightly twist and pin back the front 2 inches of hair, and WHA-LA!. I also like her dress and how it emphasizes her eyes! (: Very pirate-y. SPEAKING OF WHICH, I STILL GOTTA WATCH THIS MOVIE, Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides.

I usually am not a fan of the tightly curled side pony tail, but this hair style is loose enough on top to make it look gorgeous on her. The scarf also adds a chic-ness to the hair and outfit. Love!

PS, does anyone else notice a resemblance to Anne Hathaway here?

Bangs

I've come to the sad realization that I've never had nice bangs before. Since I cut my own hair, I have no one to go yell at (but myself). They've always been either too choppy, too crooked, too long, or not full enough. Right now, they are too long and not full. Another problem that I've always had is that they fall right into my face if they are not tucked behind my ear, but then that gives the illusion that I have no bangs. Sigh.

But here are some BANGING girls! (hehe, see what I did there?)

Formal/ Prom/ Party/ Special Occasion Hair

This is my collage of the best updos and downdos of beautiful hair for a formal or semi formal dance or party. My school is having Winter Formal next month, so this doubles as an organized hair idea thing for me. I will also be posting a list of dresses very soon. I've already made the post, but I don't want to publish it just yet, because my friends and I are going dress shopping later this week, so there might be ones that I like, and will take pictures of.

Is this still her? I can't really tell! I like the low, messier bun slightly more than the sophisticated tight one, as seen in the picture above.

Ashley Greene's lovely LOOSELY braided updo. Wish I could see the back, but her hair was probably curled first with a large barrel iron and then braided loosely and pulled back into a side bun ON THE SIDE I CAN'T SEE )=.

Although I'm not a fan of her dress in here, her hair does look beautiful, as usual! For those trying to replicate: curl hair with 3/4" iron, start from the bottom and pin hair towards center of the back of your head.

What I like to call a low side pouf. It was probably tied with a hair tie first, then teased/back combed her hair A LOT and then pinning the ends around the hair tie to cover it up.

Pretty and relaxed hair was displayed in a Chanel No. 5 ad that I saw in a magazine, so I googled Chanel ads until I found it :) I like how it's very soft and loose.

Retro-ish. What I like are the bangs. Click here and scroll down for the video tutorial.

Taylor Swift's half updo. Curl hair with a 1 inch curling iron and spray with hard hold hairspray; tease the crown by back-combing, and pin back; straighten bangs and sweep to one side.

Another version of the above, but a little more romantic because of the free curl on the other side, and with a little head band.

Zooey Deschanel is so cute! This is a really easy hairstyle: just take about a 1.5" piece of hair from the left side (ear area) and braid it, bringing it over to the other side and pin behind the ear. Curl the rest of hair with a 1.25" curling iron and run fingers through curls to loosen them up.

Katy Perry has purple streaks now! :O She copied me! Hahaha You can see it really clearly at the end of her new music video for Fireworks. Her hair looks veeerryyy pretty. (=




And can I just point out that two months ago, when she appeared as a musical guest star on SNL, she had purple AND turquoise streaks, which looked like MY hair back in April!

Katy Perry- Inspired Updo (=

I uploaded this video about a week ago. yaaay for Katy Perry hair!

I've always wanted heavy front bangs with long hair. Up until I was about 5, I always had a bowl cut with bangs. Then in 3rd grade, when my hair was extremely long, I really wanted front bangs like my friend Amanda, but my dear mother convinced me that long hair and bangs don't go together. HUMPH she made me avoid front bangs ever since! I am still scarred, but thinking maybe I should give Katy Perry- bangs a chance. However, being the scared-of-commitment person I am, I may get some cheap clip-in ones from Hot Topic for now.
