Hot Tools 1" Professional Flat Iron/ Hair Straightener Model 1164 Review

This is really just your standard flat iron. Overall, I rate it a 3.8 out of 5 just because it doesn't have rounded edges; and thus can only straighten hair, as opposed to most flat irons which can curl, wave, and straighten. However, it was extremely cheap at Marshall's and TJ Maxx, (around $20) so I'd say it's worth it for a hair straightener!

FEATURES/ PROS:

  • Slim design with flocked tips. The outside of the plates are covered with a soft, fuzzy thing that I guess is the "flocked tip". It's not as hot as it would be if it were metal, so your fingers don't get burned! :D It's also easier to grip.
  • Small and easy to store
  • Patented Pulse Technology® for Gets Hot... Stays Hot™ performance
    • Temperatures up to 430° F (220° C)
    • Variable heat settings for any hair type, HOWEVER, it doesn't show what the temperature is!
  • Fast heat-up
  • Separate heating system for each heating plate
  • Heavy-duty, long-life heating element
  • 8-ft. heavy-duty, tangle-proof cord
  • On / Off switch with pilot light
  • One-Year Warranty
 CONS:
  •  You can ONLY straighten your hair with this. The edges are not rounded, so you cannot curl or wave your hair.
  • You can change the temperature, but there's no temperature display, so you don't know exactly how hot it is.
